Adobe MAX 2016 is kicking off today in San Diego, California, where the latest innovations in creative software is set to debut. We’ve had a sneak peek at some of the announcements coming today and tomorrow including updates to Creative Cloud, Adobe Stock, and a look at Project Felix. Read on for all the details…

To start, Adobe is giving its Creative Cloud apps a major upgrade across the board. A new universal search bar in Photoshop will let users “quickly search tools, panels, menus, Adobe Stock assets, help content and tutorials.”

Dreamweaver CC is gaining a “modern new interface and fast, flexible coding engine” while Adobe Spark will deliver exclusive features to paid CC members.

Adobe is also bringing mobile apps previously only available on iPhone and iPad to Android including Photoshop Sketch, Comp CC, and Photoshop Fix.

Adobe Stock, the company’s catalog of video and photo assets from professionals around the world, gains templates as a format joining illustrations, graphics, and 3D models. Stock is putting machine learning to use to make searching the catalog of over 60 million assets easier with a new beta auto-keyword feature that pulls the first five keywords from similar assets.

Adobe is also partnering with Reuters to bring video and photography from the world’s largest international multimedia news provider to the Stock library.

Project Felix is a new design tool that Adobe calls an industry first for letting graphic designers “easily create high quality, photo-realistic images by combining 2D and 3D assets for projects such as product shot comps, scene visualization and abstract design.” Adobe Stock provides Project Felix with in-app access to 3D models, materials and lights for putting projects together in Photoshop.

Adobe Experience Design CC will see a new Mac release which includes Layers and Symbol support for prototyping and sharing mobile apps and website UX. Adobe is also offering an early look at real-time collaboration with Experience Design at MAX.

VR is also getting attention at MAX 2016 with the next version of Adobe Premiere Pro CC which features “auto-aware virtual reality (VR) that seamlessly detects and applies the correct setting to stereoscopic and monoscopic media.”

Finally, there’s Adobe Sensei, which it describes as “a framework and set of intelligent services built into the Adobe Cloud Platform that leverages Adobe’s massive volume of content and data assets to enable customers to work faster and smarter.”

Adobe MAX is packed with lots of expert keynote speakers from around the creative industry so stay tuned for more demos and announcements.
