A sci-fi/horror combo, A Quiet Place follows a family as they try to survive and live something close to a decent life after an alien invasion proved apocalyptic to humankind. These alien creatures hunt by sound, and any type of noise that isn’t muffled, concealed, or otherwise muted could potentially be a person’s last. Once detected, the aliens kill with quick and merciless precision, and it’s basically impossible to save those who end up on their radar.

Made on a reported budget of $17 million, A Quiet Place was a massive hit, earning $340 million worldwide. A Quiet Place 2 is coming in 2020, but before fans look ahead, they should again look back and realize just how intricately crafted a film Krasinski made, selling his desolate world down to the smallest detail.

A Quiet Place Funny Easter Egg Reveals Food Changes

Right near the beginning of A Quiet Place, the Abbott family head to a store to pick up some supplies. While there, it’s clear that much of what once occupied the store’s shelves has been taken previously, except for one particular food item that’s available in abundance. That food item is potato chips. While chips are one of the most popular snacks in America, there’s no real use for them in this particular post-apocalypse, and it’s not hard to imagine why that is. In a world where sound is the enemy, chips, which come inside noisy plastic bags or tubes and make loud crunching sounds when consumed, are a liability.

While in normal reality Pringles likes to boast that “once you pop, you can’t stop,” and Lays bets their customers can’t eat just one chip, in the world of A Quiet Place, eating just one could very well end one’s life, and endanger the lives of those around them. Anyone who chooses to pop open a container of Pringles could soon find themselves both popped and stopped by a rampaging alien. A chip-free existence is a sad prospect for many, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
