The full trailer for A Quiet Place 2, the sequel to director John Krasinski’s 2018 sci-fi/horror hit, arrives soon, and here’s when to expect it. A Quiet Place was a success by any measure in 2018, earning rave reviews from critics, and inspiring a unique theatrical experience in which the audience tended to be just as silent as the characters onscreen. A Quiet Place was a master class in tension and suspense, and while it wasn’t former The Office star Krasinski’s first feature as a director, it’s certainly the one that made most take notice of his talent behind the camera.

Tales about apocalyptic events and their aftermath have seen a huge resurgence in the 2010s, most notably with AMC’s zombie drama The Walking Dead, which dominated TV for about six years, and is still watched by millions. This apocalypse fervor has even resulted in Stephen King’s classic novel The Stand being resurrected as an upcoming limited streaming series on CBS All Access. Among the pantheon of apocalyptic pop culture though, A Quiet Place presented a scenario unlike anything seen before.

A Quiet Place’s Earth has been invaded by horrifying alien creatures that hunt solely based on sound, making any small noise a potential recipe for disaster. While Krasinski’s character didn’t survive the film, the rest of the Abbott family is headed back to screens for A Quiet Place 2. A short teaser clip was released on December 18, which let fans know when to look out for the arrival of a full trailer.

A Quiet Place 2: When The Trailer Drops Online

A Quiet Place 2’s first full trailer will drop online on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2020. We don’t yet know when though, although a common time for studios to debut big trailers is 12pm EST/9am PST. It’s also possible Paramount will look to ring in the new year with A Quiet Place 2’s trailer, and drop it at exactly midnight. Another time fans should make note of is 8am EST/5am PST, as recent Paramount sequel Top Gun: Maverick dropped its latest trailer then.

The teaser clip for A Quiet Place 2 already served to confirm that the sequel won’t be set long after the original A Quiet Place, as Evelyn Abbott (Emily Blunt) is seen walking through the forest with a bandaged foot, a result of her stepping on a nail in their basement. In March 2020, it’s time for audiences around the world to get deathly quiet once again, as they hold their breath hoping for the Abbotts to attain the best possible outcome.
