Live PD and Live Rescue is returning to television. A&E’s number one original documentary series at the time they left the airways, Live PD and Live Rescue are returning for more seasons.
A&E announced earlier this week on September 13th that the hit programs will be returning on Friday and Saturday nights, Live PD will premiere season 4 on September 20th while Live Rescue will return September 23rd. Live PD will be showing three new law enforcement agencies in the upcoming season. Live Rescue will be using a new host - Matt Iseman - who was announced as the new anchor, spearheading their new season. Since Live PD’s premiere back in October of 2016, the show had seen its viewers grow by 148 percent which was considered a series high at 2.4 million viewers. The 82-episode series was the number one broadcast of the night for all television during its run.
Live PD is hosted by award-winning anchor Dan Abrams with a special analysis from Tom Morris Jr. and Sgt. Sean Larkin. The show helped display a look into how policing is done in America today. The production crew used live cameras to help document the job being done by diverse departments from across all walks of life and all throughout the country. The new agencies being used will be the Tallahassee Police Department who is based in Florida, the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office who is in Montana. While there are some returning departments that will be aired are from South Carolina’s Richard Country Sheriff’s Department to Louisiana’s Lafayette Police Department.
While over on Live Rescue Matt Iseman will be in charge of taking the show to the next level thanks to his medical credentials and Emmy Award-winning attitude. Iseman was best known for his hosting duties on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior and also hosted the History special, Evel Live. What fans of the show may not know is Iseman is a licensed doctor with a degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. The anchor completed his residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Colorado. The focus of Live Rescue is to follow first responders as they risk their lives answering 911 calls. The series will show agencies from Tallahassee’s Fire Department, the San Bernardino County Fire Department, Mesa Fire, and Rescue Department, and the St. Louis Fire Department.
While fans have been jumping at the bit for the return of new seasons for both shows, it seems that the A&E network executives are just as excited saying that they are more than pleased to bring back both series. Fans of the network only have to wait one more week to get their fix of Live Rescue and Live PD.
