Adobe is rolling out an update to Photoshop on iPad starting today that brings features and improvements outlined earlier in fall just in time for the end of the year. The update should be available soon in the App Store for all Photoshop on iPad customers. Select Subject is a feature that significantly streamlines the process of making complex and detailed selections on an image. The feature has been available on the desktop since 2018, and was promised in a November blog post from Adobe to roll out on the iPad before the end of the year....

CNET.co.uk did some Javascript benchmarks on the new iPad running iOS 4.3 and compared them with other iOS devices and a few Androids. The results are pretty impressive. Where the iPhone 4 and iPad lagged behind both Android devices using iOS 4.2, popping iOS 4.3 with the new WebKit 2 browser engine in the devices dropped more than half of their rendering time. As you can see, the iPad 2, with its more powerful processor, and perhaps helped by some additional RAM, is over 50% faster than the previous iPad....

Apple’s Q1 2013 earnings report just sent the stock sliding 5 percent, or roughly 30 points, to a near year-low. Wall Street analysts estimated Apple sold between 47.5 million and 53 million iPhones in Q1 2013, compared to 37 million in the year-ago quarter, while iPad sales likely landed between 23 million and 25 million. However, Apple just reported 47.8 million in iPhone sales for the first quarter. That number hit the low-end of projections, but iPad sales fell below analyst expectations at 22....

AAPL shares rose to over $200 today, moving the company back towards the trillion-dollar valuation that it originally achieved last August. The stock also just missed out on hitting ten straight days of growth, landing at $199.50 at the end of trading today, ending its streak of gains. The last year has been rocky for AAPL shares. After seeing impressive growth in 2018 up until October, the stock dropped 33% in the following two months....

Abode has been planning to bring HomeKit functionality to its Iota home security system for two years and today it has delivered on that promise to support Apple’s smart home platform. Abode’s security system includes door and window sensors, motion sensors, vibration sensors, cameras, and more. Abode announced the news in a press release and also created a landing page to detail the arrival of HomeKit functionality: Abode’s CEO shared more about the launch, including the claim that Iota is the first and only HomeKit-enabled DIY home security system....

Bloomberg reports that Adobe is currently developing a cross-platform Photoshop app for iOS, described as a ‘full version’ of the popular desktop image editing suite. Adobe’s Creative Cloud product officer confirmed the plans and wants to get them ‘on the market as soon as possible.’ Bloomberg’s sources indicate the new app will be demoed in October, targeting a 2019 debut. Adobe currently has several mobile ‘Photoshop’ apps on the App Store, but they constitute small slices of the full desktop app feature-set....

In addition to significant improvements to its prototyping tool XD, Adobe today released updates to Lightroom with new ways to learn photo techniques, improved editing features, and more. The updates are rolling out to Mac and iOS customers starting today. One of the most interesting new features in Lightroom is a tool Adobe calls Texture. The simple slider packs a lot of functionality behind the scenes. According to Adobe, Texture isolates medium-sized details to allow you to accentuate or smooth specific areas of a photo without changing the appearance of the entire image....

The production team set out 10 iPads in airports known to have thefts, and nine of the tablets were eventually reported as lost. It gets worse. The TSA officer blamed the situation on his wife: After waiting 15 days, ABC News went to the home and asked Ramirez to return the iPad....
